We also experienced Chinese ink painting, line drawing, paper printing, sculpting, ink smearing and other forms of expression. These activities were thoroughly enjoyed by all and every child tried their best.
K2A's children also performed a ‘Hawaiian’ style dance for their parents! The movers and shakers tried hard to catch the beat.
The ‘doodle/graffiti’ expression was very popular and we had the honour of a real artist come to visit us and inspire our work. The children created their own ‘doodle’ page and also they also helped create a class doodle board where the only instruction was, "Do what you feel is right." The children have seemed to be very creative and very knowledgeable throughout our topic and that is a testament to their experiences at home, so thank you for supporting their learning journey.
They have latched onto famous artists such as Dali, Mattis, Van Gogh and Giacometti to help assist in learning about collages, paper cutting, imitation artwork and so many other forms. The children’s work has brought us a lot of pleasure and they have surprised us with their dedication. During the exhibition there was not an unimpressed parent present, everyone took the time to look at their children's work and enjoy their effort. A fantastic unit of inquiry. We look forward to the next.
